Thanks for your sharing. I did read the article before and I think Ron might be bothering to invent such a tool that derives into many issues for us.

The "initial purpose" is I think it should be but "not in the very beginning". I've seen many developers trying to estimates items in story points for time prediction instead of building shared understanding to user stories, just because the management needs a report.

That has caused members to spend time on estimating time, which I see as a waste in development process. I don't recommend anyone to use it unless they clearly know what they should do is "build shared understanding" and divide user stories into achievable units for sprints.
